Decatur High School standout Jordan Walker has earned plenty of accolades for his play -- Perfect Game All-American and numerous all-state selections to name a few.

He can add another prestigious honor to his resume.

The power-hitting infielder has been named the 2020 Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year. A Duke University signee, Walker is expected to be selected in next month's Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.

Although his 2020 high school campaign was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic, he was batting .457 with four homers and 15 RBIs in 16 games.

As a junior, Walker batted .519 with 17 homers, 60 RBIs and stole 24 bases.

He was named to the Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine's Class 5A all-state team as a sophomore and a junior. He was also selected to play in Perfect Game's prestigious All-American Classic last summer in San Diego.

He joins a list of state winners that includes former Blessed Trinity standout CJ Abrams (2019), North Oconee's Kumar Rocker (2018), Etowah's Drew Waters (2017) and Pope's Josh Lowe (2016).
