Family and friends gathered on Field 16 at Lake Point Sports in Emerson, Ga. Saturday morning for a Celebration of Life event for longtime Georgia Dugout Club Executive Director Harvey Cochran. The legendary coach passed away on August 19.

Longtime Milwaukee Brewers scout Steve Smith told humorous stories about Cochran, one of just just 11 coaches in Georgia high school baseball history to win at least 600 or more games. Kenny Palmer, David McDonald and Donnie English tossed out ceremonial final pitches in Cochran's honor while former players CJ Bressoud, Eric McQueen and Kyle Reese took a turn catching the final pitches.

After scripture reading form Reverend Verlene Borum and a sermon from Dr. Sam Matthews, Cochran's only son Kip gave the eulogy for his late father.
