Longtime Cobb County coach Donnie English was inducted into the GACA Hall of Fame on June 4, 2022.

 

English inducted into GACA Hall of Fame

Longtime Cobb County baseball coach Donnie English was nducted into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame Saturday, June 4. He spent 40 years as the head coach at R.L. Osborne High School, two years at Douglas County High School and nine years at Kell High School.

English also coached girls softball for 15 years.

He played at Georgia Southwestern and was the first four-year letterman. He is a member of the Georgia Southwestern Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame.

He served in the Air Force, serving a tour in Vietnam. He was awarded the following medals - The Vietnam Capaign Medal, The Air Force Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
