Julian Mock was one of the founding members of the Atlanta Dugout Club in 1962. The organization later evolved into the Georgia Dugout Club.

Mock was a successful high school coach at Southwest and Murphy High Schools in Atlanta. His teams at Murphy won four consecutive Atlanta City championships and two state championships before becoming a territorial scout for the Cincinnati Reds for 24 years.
